Senior PCB Component Engineer

About the role

Cisco is looking for a highly motivated Senior PCB Component Engineer to join its Component Quality & Technology (CQT) team within the Global Supplier Management organization of the Supply Chain Organization. CQT evaluates and develops new technologies to enable product differentiation, working with business units, suppliers and other supply chain functions. The role involves collaborating with Cisco teams and industry partners to develop next-generation PCB solutions that meet Cisco's high standards.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with development engineers, commodity teams and suppliers to create innovative PCB solutions.
• Contribute to the development of the PCB commodity strategy.
• Take part in supplier selection, assess and qualify PCB suppliers, and take part in technical and process audits as needed.
• Lead PCB failure analysis and drive containment, corrective actions and risk assessment.
• Work with manufacturing and engineering teams to resolve complex technical issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.

Required profile

• Engineering, Chemistry or Materials degree or equivalent, plus 10+ years of PCB manufacturing experience.
• Solid understanding of PCB design specifications, qualification, manufacturing fabrication and test, and familiarity with laminates and resins.
• Experience managing supplier relationships and implementing corrective actions and quality control measures.
• Preferred: strong problem-solving, conflict resolution, customer focus, decision-making, influence and deadline management; leadership of technical projects and cross-organizational collaboration.

Required skills

• Failure analysis techniques: FMEA, 8D/Corrective Action, Fishbone IFD, Cause and Effect Analysis, Design of Experiments (DOE) and risk assessment.
• Knowledge of interconnect design areas such as mechanical engineering, manufacturing and signal integrity (preferred).
