Staff Software Engineer – Full Stack (Bangkok, Relocation)

About the role

Join Agoda’s engineering team in Bangkok as a Staff Software Engineer focusing on full‑stack development. You will design and build high‑performance systems that serve millions of travelers worldwide, with a world‑class relocation package and opportunities for technical leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Lead full‑stack architecture and system design for features used by millions of customers.
• Own end‑to‑end systems from React‑based front‑end to backend microservices and mentor high‑performing teams.
• Design and evolve Backend‑for‑Frontend (BFF) layers that aggregate downstream services into UI‑friendly contracts.
• Guide technical decisions across multiple squads, driving engineering excellence.
• Collaborate with Product and Design to deliver cohesive, user‑centered solutions at scale.

Required profile

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including leadership of end‑to‑end architecture on high‑traffic platforms.
• Proven track record of technical mentorship, cross‑team collaboration, and solving ambiguous problems.
• Strong ability to drive technical decisions and mentor engineers across the stack.

Required skills

• React, Next.js, TypeScript, Redux or Zustand, Webpack/Vite.
• Java, Kotlin or .NET for backend microservices.
• Node.js/TypeScript for BFF layers, REST/gRPC APIs.
• Core Web Vitals, code splitting, lazy loading, SSR/SSG/ISR.
• Testing frameworks such as Jest, Cypress or Playwright.
