Buyer (Bangkok)

About the role

Rockwell Automation is hiring a Buyer based in Bangkok, Thailand, to support commodity strategy, supplier selection and sourcing decisions. The role reports to a Procurement Manager based in Singapore.

Key responsibilities

• Support commodity teams, plants, suppliers and customers, and prepare and handle RFQs and ECs for commodities
• Evaluate supplier quotations and prepare total acquisition cost analyses to recommend sourcing options
• Procure assigned materials and commodities from specified suppliers, following all procedures
• Maintain supplier and system records and ensure products are sourced from known sources
• Take part in learning and professional development activities
• Handle basic issues such as requisition accuracy, on-time delivery and supplier payments, and suggest improvements to purchasing procedures
• Help locate alternate sources of supply and manage data in the MRP system (price, lead time, lot sizes)
• Process purchase requisitions and coordinate with Development and Industrialization Engineering, Marketing, Quality, Production, Inventory Control, Legal and Finance/Accounting

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or an equivalent discipline
• At least five years of directly related experience
• Demonstrated understanding of MRP, inventory and production principles
• Preferred: exposure to contract negotiation and conflict resolution, project management, and commodity strategy development

Required skills

• SAP ERP experience
• Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
• Analytical tools and systems
