Corporate Relations Director, Thailand

About the role

Diageo is looking for a Corporate Relations Director for Thailand, based in Bangkok. Reporting to the Corporate Relations director for Southeast Asia, the role executes the Global Corporate Relations strategy within the Thai market and acts as a trusted partner to the Thailand General Manager and other functional heads. The function shapes how the world sees Diageo, building relationships with media, investors, governments, NGOs and partners.

Key responsibilities

• Navigate and shape the external policy and regulatory environment, engaging proactively with government, regulators, industry associations and other stakeholders on excise and customs, international trade, alcohol regulation and public health policy
• Influence subordinate regulations under the Alcohol Beverage Control Act, advocate for licensing and zoning reform, and advance tariff liberalisation through Thailand-UK cooperation and FTAs
• Deliver internal and external corporate communications, including the cultural transformation agenda, media relations, support for public policy campaigns and issues and crisis communications
• Develop and implement a society agenda focused on positive and responsible drinking, in line with Diageo's Spirit of Progress strategy
• Build trusted relationships with government, trade associations, social organisations and civil society / NGOs

Required profile

• 10+ years in corporate relations or similar roles, ideally in highly regulated sectors for a multinational, trade association or agency
• Strong leadership experience partnering with senior business leaders (MD/GM level) and leading small agile CR teams
• Ability to work in a matrix structure and implement global strategies at local market level, highly preferred
• Background in public policy, government relations and/or strategic communications
