Food Technologist - Savoury & Snacks Yeast Applications

About the role

Biospringer by Lesaffre, a global fermentation company, is looking for an experienced Food Technologist to support its market development in Thailand and Vietnam. The position is based in Thailand and reports to the Thailand & Vietnam Sales Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Design and formulate savoury and snacks application recipes showcasing Biospringer's yeast products
• Design experiments to evaluate yeast product performance in customer-specific applications aligned with market trends
• Conduct sensory evaluation of ingredients, competitor products and finished products
• Translate market trends and needs into new product developments
• Prepare demonstration kits for customer presentations, innovation days and seminars
• Align and communicate company and product strategy with the Culinary Center APAC team in Singapore
• Identify unmet customer needs and work with Sales and Marketing to propose new product solutions
• Provide thorough written documentation of projects and methods
• Act as the technical point of contact for customers, track new product launches and build strong customer relationships with the sales representative
• Maintain a safe, clean and organized lab, manage sample and consumable inventory, and carry out ad-hoc duties

Required profile

• University degree or college diploma in Food Science, Food Technology or equivalent
• Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in technical, innovation or R&D roles
• Fluent English, written and spoken
• Available to work a flexible schedule and to travel

Required skills

• Strong understanding of savoury and snacks recipes and manufacturing processes
• Proficiency operating lab and pilot food processing equipment
• Solid sensory skills and good problem-solving ability
• Superior verbal and written communication
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
