Information Systems Officer

About the role

The Office of Information and Communications Technology (OICT) is seeking an Information Systems Officer to support its digital transformation agenda in Bangkok. Reporting to a Senior Information Systems Officer, the incumbent will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of moderately complex information systems for the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP).

Key responsibilities

• Manage feasibility studies, systems analysis, design, development and implementation of new moderately complex systems.
• Develop detailed functional specifications, system documentation and user manuals.
• Provide specialized advice, translate user requirements into applications, and address integration issues.
• Maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot existing systems, ensuring data security and access controls.
• Conduct unit and integrated testing, support user acceptance testing, and produce training materials.
• Research emerging technologies and recommend deployment strategies.
• Draft reports and papers on system requirements and information strategy.
• Coordinate Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and foster client relations.
• Supervise and mentor junior staff or consultants as needed.

Required profile

• University degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
• Experience in managing system development projects and providing user support.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
