Manager 4, Commodity - BTS Spares and Service

About the role

Western Digital is hiring a Manager 4, Commodity for its BTS Spares and Service function in Bang Pa-in, Thailand. The role works as a group leader assisting the procurement manager on procurement operations and processes, or takes charge of local commodity strategic sourcing during normal tactical purchasing. It covers sourcing for multiple sites and functions, including supplier development, RFx, contract negotiation and supplier performance management.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a category sourcing strategy to obtain quality goods and services at competitive prices, optimise purchasing costs and meet KPIs.
• Manage supplier development and selection, dual/multiple sourcing and localisation strategies, RFx processes, contract negotiation and management.
• Provide value engineering and value-added sourcing to internal customers, and coordinate quality solutions with suppliers.
• Work with procurement leaders to manage supplier relationships, assess and mitigate supply risk, and run periodic SPR reviews.
• Mentor junior buyers, act as team leader on projects and special commodities, and monitor industry market trends.
• Ensure compliance with IMS/BCMS controls under ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 and 22301, and with ethics, trade compliance and other company rules.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or above; mechanical engineering preferred.
• 6+ years of working experience, 5+ in procurement and commodity sourcing, with more than 3 years in machining/manufacturing parts or equipment procurement preferred.
• Very good leadership as a senior commodity manager, strong communication in English and Thai, and strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook) and ERP systems.
• Project management skills and openness to new tools such as AI.
