Senior Consultant - Renewable Energy (Wind)

About the role

AFRY, the international engineering, design and advisory company formed by the merger of ÅF and Pöyry, is hiring a Senior Consultant for renewable energy (wind) in its Bangkok office. The role covers conceptual design, feasibility studies, site assessments, technical due diligence and project support for solar PV, onshore wind, BESS and other renewable power projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare conceptual design and feasibility studies for solar PV, onshore wind, BESS and potentially offshore wind, battery storage, hydrogen, biomass and waste-to-energy projects, ensuring compliance with local, national and international regulations and standards.
• Take part in EPC tendering, negotiations with EPC contractors, IPP bidding, PPA negotiations and renewable energy project development.
• Carry out technical due diligence for potential acquisition or financing of renewable energy projects.
• Prepare initial site assessments on land use and land cover using spatial data, producing thematic maps and geospatial analysis, and conduct site visits and stakeholder discussions.
• Analyze project data, prepare reports and conduct energy yield analysis for solar and wind projects.
• Act as lender's engineer, carrying out construction and operations monitoring.
• Estimate project costs and perform financial analysis to support budgeting and financial planning.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams and present project findings to clients and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Higher professional degree in a relevant engineering field (M.Sc. or B.Sc.).
• 3-7 years' experience in renewable energy technologies.
• Fluent Bahasa Indonesia and English is a must.
• Willingness to conduct site visits and interact with stakeholders.

Required skills

• Renewable energy design and analysis software such as PVsyst, WAsP, WindPRO, HOMER.
• Basic understanding of GIS-based mapping and aerial imagery.
• Basic understanding of project cost and financial analysis.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
