Communications and Environmental Law Specialist

About the role

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is seeking a Communications and Environmental Law Specialist on a consultancy basis to support its Asia and Pacific Office. Working remotely from Bangkok, the consultant will report to the Regional Coordinator for Environmental Law and Governance and will contribute to UNEP’s legal and communication initiatives across the region.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation and completion of deliverables in close consultation with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
  • Provide technical support to achieve the outputs defined for the assignment.
  • Coordinate and facilitate consultations with relevant stakeholders, including domestic travel as required.

Required profile

  • Experience in environmental law and communications within an international or governmental context.
  • Ability to work under the guidance of UNEP’s Regional Coordinator and collaborate with DENR.
  • Willingness to travel domestically for stakeholder engagement.
