Junior Strategic Procurement (SEA) - Chemical Background

About the role

Veolia, which designs, supplies and operates water systems for oil and gas, municipal water, microelectronics ultrapure water and heavy industrial wastewater treatment, is hiring a Junior Strategic Procurement specialist with a chemical background in Bangkok. The role covers supplier negotiation, purchase order management and supplier coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs), obtain offers, clarify them and negotiate with suppliers
• Create requests for new supplier onboarding in ARIBA and SAP, and maintain vendor data
• Prepare purchase orders based on verified specifications, terms and conditions, material codes and prices
• Check supplier lead times, track delivery schedules and verify manufacturing readiness
• Coordinate with internal teams and suppliers for on-time material delivery, support issue resolution and recovery plans, and monitor and expedite orders
• Travel to supplier locations for order expedition and coordinate with logistics for on-time shipment
• Drive key metrics on PO cycle time, on-time delivery, on-time payments and payment terms, and support the PO automation project
• Support payments to suppliers and work with Accounts Payable on resolutions
• Ensure compliance with procurement processes and practices

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
• At least 4 years of experience in procurement
• Chemical background
• Good negotiation skills
• Self-motivated, highly organised, able to multitask and handle rapidly changing priorities
• Strong verbal and written communication, including with senior management and suppliers
