Sr. Technical / Business Development Consultant - LNG & Green Fuels

About the role

AFRY, a global power-sector consulting and engineering company, is hiring a Senior Technical / Business Development Consultant for its LNG and Green Fuels business in Southeast Asia. The role reports directly to the Head of LNG and Green Fuels - SEA and focuses on client-facing activities, combining technical expertise with business acumen to identify opportunities, build relationships with developers, operators and financiers, and close strategic deals.

Key responsibilities

• Business development (60-70% of time): acquire new clients in LNG, FLNG and green fuels markets, engage investors, developers, operators and regulators, and expand AFRY's market presence through presentations, webinars and workshops.
• Client relationship management: act as primary contact for key accounts, deliver tailored solutions and maintain long-term relationships.
• Proposal development and sales: lead technical-commercial proposals including cost estimation, scope and timelines, negotiate contracts and terms, and represent AFRY at industry events.
• Strategic reporting: identify industry trends and client needs, and report progress, sales forecasts and client feedback to senior leadership.
• Technical work (30-40% of time): develop feasibility reports, technical due diligence and commercial tasks such as FM, and support Green Hydrogen and Green Ammonia (Power-to-X) projects.

Required profile

• 15+ years of experience in the LNG, oil and gas and green fuels industry.
• Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering; MBA is a plus.
• Proven success in client acquisition, proposal development and closing sales in the energy sector in Southeast Asia.
• Strong networking skills and a track record of expanding market presence.
• Experience in reputed engineering or international consulting firms preferred.
