Assistant Sales Manager

About the role

Brenntag is hiring an Assistant Sales Manager in Bangkok. The role covers sales performance, customer management, pricing and forecasting, supplier relations and compliance, and requires fluency in Thai and English.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve agreed sales, gross profit, budget and other targets, monitoring performance by product and customer
• Help formulate, implement and evaluate marketing plans, identify key customers and opportunities, and report on competitors
• Plan customer visits, conduct regular meetings, prepare visit reports and resolve customer issues with the Manager and suppliers
• Keep product pricing in line with budget, support demand and supply forecasting and inventory management, and maintain adequate product and sample stock
• Manage supplier relationships, share product developments and new requirements internally and externally
• Ensure sales activities comply with company requirements: prepare presentations, proposals and quotations, negotiate contracts and terms, coordinate with procurement, logistics and technical teams, and keep sales records in Salesforce/CRM
• Handle customer enquiries, complaints and after-sales support, and maintain CRM records
• Perform other duties assigned by the Supervisor

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Biotechnology, Chemistry or a related field
• At least 8 years of experience in sales and marketing or related functions such as R&D, quality control or marketing in the food and biotechnology industries; distributor or manufacturer experience preferred
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets and ability to analyse sales data and market trends
• Experience in team supervision or a leadership role preferred
• Fluency in Thai and English; Chinese is an added advantage
• Valid driving licence, willingness to travel including upcountry and overnight business trips

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, with Excel used for data analysis, pricing and sales reporting
• Familiarity with CRM systems such as Salesforce, Dynamics or similar
• Good communication, negotiation, interpersonal and presentation skills
