Assistant Sommelier – Beverage Service (CTI)

About the role

The Assistant Sommelier supports the Sommelier in delivering exceptional beverage and wine service across dining outlets with a capacity of up to 450 guests. Working on a cruise ship environment, the role focuses on enhancing the guest experience, driving beverage sales, and ensuring operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain guest satisfaction by following service procedures and offering attentive, courteous service.
• Promote and maximize beverage and wine sales, supporting the Seabourn Vintage program.
• Supervise wine service schedules and assist the Sommelier in upselling premium products.
• Manage beverage inventory, ensuring proper storage, usage, and accountability.
• Handle checks and sales transactions accurately in assigned dining outlets.
• Achieve yearly bar score targets on guest comment cards.
• Follow Seabourn recipes, standards, and measurement guidelines.
• Perform cleaning duties and report any deficiencies in designated areas.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, safety, and international regulations.

Required profile

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Strong wine knowledge covering both Old World and New World varieties.
