CAD Technician - Lighting

About the role

Inhabit, part of the Egis Group, is a specialist consultancy focused on the design and advancement of the built environment. Its Lighting Design teams across Asia-Pacific create visual experiences for hospitality, commercial, retail, transportation, entertainment and residential projects. Inhabit is seeking a Lighting CAD technician in Bangkok to support the delivery of lighting projects across a variety of sectors, working closely with Lighting Designers and project teams to produce accurate technical documentation from concept through to construction.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain lighting design documentation including plans, reflected ceiling plans, sections, elevations and detailed drawings.
• Produce and update lighting layouts using AutoCAD in line with project requirements and office standards.
• Provide quality drafting of all documentation to tender level, including lighting installation details.
• Assist Lighting Designers with luminaire schedules, technical specifications and drawing packages.
• Coordinate drawing information with architectural, interior design, MEP and other consultant documentation.
• Support the development of lighting control layouts and schematic diagrams.
• Revise and update drawings after design reviews and consultant feedback, ensuring accurate, coordinated documentation issued on time.
• Organise and maintain project files, drawing registers and documentation records.
• Assist with presentation material and technical reports when required, and take part in internal project coordination meetings.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Building Technology, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Drafting experience in architectural, interior design, lighting design or building consultancy environments.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, organised and able to manage several tasks within deadlines.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD is essential.
• Familiarity with lighting design documentation and construction drawing standards is preferred.
• Beneficial: knowledge of Revit and BIM workflows, Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam, lighting calculation and rendering software, and AI tools.
