Housekeeping Utility (Tailor) – Cruise Ship

About the role

Seabourn is seeking a Housekeeping Utility (Tailor) to work aboard its cruise ships, ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of crew and officer cabins, as well as public areas for both crew and guests. The role reports to the Assistant Housekeeper and follows guidance from the Executive Housekeeper.

Key responsibilities

• Attend daily briefings and maintain communication with housekeeping supervisors.
• Follow established cleaning schedules and perform assigned duties, including cabin cleaning, public area upkeep, and carpet/upholstery shampooing when required.
• Dispose of waste and separate recyclables in accordance with public‑health regulations.
• Complete logs, report maintenance issues, and record working hours accurately.
• Assist with embarkation and debarkation tasks and support colleagues as needed.
• Help achieve budget targets by minimizing waste, breakage, and overtime.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• At least 1 year of experience in a similar housekeeping position; cruise‑ship experience is a plus.
• Valid passport (minimum six months), seaman’s book, and a United States C1/D visa.
• English Marlin test score of at least 80 %.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting, bending, climbing and repetitive motions.

Required skills

• Carpet and upholstery shampooing.
• Proper waste disposal and segregation according to health regulations.
• Use of housekeeping logs and reporting tools.
