Senior Data Engineer (Banking)

About the role

Capco, a Wipro company and global technology and management consultancy for digital transformation in financial services, is looking for an experienced Data Engineer in Bangkok. The role designs, builds and maintains scalable data pipelines and infrastructure supporting analytics, AI/ML and business intelligence use cases for a bank's digital banking platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable batch and real-time data pipelines
• Build and optimise ETL/ELT workflows
• Implement lakehouse architecture using Azure Data Services, Databricks and Delta Lake
• Ensure data quality, reliability and availability across data products
• Work with Data Architects on data models and architecture standards
• Support data governance, metadata management and lineage tracking
• Ensure compliance with PDPA, data classification and security requirements
• Monitor pipeline performance and troubleshoot issues in production
• Deliver model-ready datasets for Data Scientists and Analysts, take part in code reviews and promote engineering best practices

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python
• Hands-on experience with Azure Data Services, Databricks and Delta Lake
• Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines at scale
• Familiarity with data modelling, distributed data systems, data governance, data quality and security
• Thai and English at intermediate level or above, sufficient for technical discussions, meetings and written documentation

Preferred

• Experience in banking, fintech or other regulated industries
• Streaming technologies such as Apache Kafka or Azure Event Hubs
• CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code for data pipelines
• Unity Catalog, Azure Purview or similar metadata tools
• Agile/Scrum experience
