Assistant Director, AML/KYC and Transfer Agency Operations

About the role

Eastspring, a global asset manager with Asia at its core, is hiring an Assistant Director in Bangkok to lead and oversee AML/KYC and transfer agency operations. The role ensures compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies, manages complex onboarding processes, monitors team performance and drives policy development, while supporting legal and compliance activities and representing the organisation in industry committees and task forces.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve AML/KYC documentation for diverse investor types, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
• Monitor adherence to policies and procedures, escalating non-compliance issues to senior management and compliance teams.
• Review and escalate complex matters to senior onboarding management and compliance.
• Assist in drafting, updating and maintaining departmental policies and procedures in line with regulatory changes.
• Maintain technical, industry and regulatory knowledge, stay updated on market initiatives and train the team.
• Build relationships across departments and global locations, liaising with AML/KYC colleagues, selling agents, paying agents, AIMC, the SEC and the Revenue Department.
• Oversee preparation of unitholder reporting for internal and external clients.
• Support legal, regulatory and compliance activities, including trading surveillance and fund policy maintenance.
• Prepare and review regulatory reports for the BOT, SEC and Revenue Department as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 8-10 years of experience in the asset management industry.
• Leadership and coaching ability, analytical thinking, problem-solving and strong communication skills.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of Provident Fund operations, including account opening, contributions, transfers and reconciliation.
