Environment Affairs Intern – Nature‑Based Climate Solutions

About the role
The Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) is seeking a proactive intern to support its Environment and Development Policy Section. This unpaid, full‑time position in Bangkok will last 4‑6 months and focuses on nature‑based climate solutions and broader environmental policy work across the Asia‑Pacific region.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in shaping policy advocacy and supporting decision‑making on climate change, air pollution, water management and biodiversity.
- Help develop frameworks and platforms that facilitate cooperation among countries and cities.
- Produce knowledge products such as policy briefs, infographics and other tools for member states.
- Contribute to the preparation of reports, briefs and presentations for senior staff.
- Support the Section’s work on nature‑based solutions and sustainable ocean management.
Required profile
- Enrolled in a relevant university program (e.g., environmental studies, international relations, public policy).
- Strong interest in climate and environmental policy in the Asia‑Pacific context.
- Willingness to work onsite in Bangkok for the full internship period.
- Ability to work independently under supervision and meet deadlines.
