Sales Engineer - HVAC

About the role

Johnson Controls is looking for a Sales Engineer for its HVAC business. The role plays a key part in reaching sales targets and improving the profit margin of the HVAC business, by acquiring new customers, strengthening relationships with existing ones and delivering tailored solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve the Key Result Areas set for the role.
• Generate and submit accurate quotations, regular sales forecasts and collection reports in line with company policy.
• Work with customers on secured projects to implement the supply scope according to the purchase order and manage invoicing.
• Maintain and grow the customer base through regular communication, visits and formal presentations.
• Understand Johnson Controls HVAC products well enough to quote accurately to customer requirements.
• Gather field intelligence on competitors' activities and market trends in the HVAC sector.
• Collaborate with sales, service administrators and finance to ensure timely collections and maintain customer credit profiles; set up credit facilities for new customers when needed.
• Keep customers informed about product information and offerings, and respond promptly to enquiries.
• Build strong relationships with dealers, consultants and end users, and perform other duties assigned by your manager.

Required profile

• Minimum degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in HVAC sales (chillers, pumps, cooling towers, contractors).
• Demonstrated experience selling to contractors, consultants or company owners and handling projects.
• Knowledge of building HVAC; experience in the construction industry is preferred.
• Desirable: ambition, strong project understanding and good relationships with contractors and consultants.

Required skills

• Basic understanding of SAP operations is advantageous.
